Conexus Cares Spotlight: Supporting Healing Through Griffith Centers for Children
At Conexus Insurance Partners, our commitment to People First. People Protected. extends beyond the work we do for our clients—it’s reflected in how we show up for our community.
As part of our Conexus Cares program, we’re proud to spotlight Griffith Centers for Children during the month of May—Mental Health Awareness Month—an organization dedicated to helping children and families navigate some of life’s most difficult challenges with compassion, care, and expertise.
A Mission Centered on Healing and Resilience
Griffith Centers for Children is focused on promoting hope, healing, and resilience through trauma-informed mental and behavioral health services. Their work supports children, individuals, and families across Colorado, particularly those who have experienced trauma, instability, or complex life circumstances.
Through a range of programs—including outpatient therapy, residential services, foster care support, and family preservation, Griffith Centers helps individuals build the tools they need to move forward with confidence and stability.
What stands out most is their approach: meeting people where they are and helping them take meaningful steps toward a healthier future.
Why This Work Matters
Many of the children served by Griffith Centers have experienced significant trauma. Healing isn’t linear—and it often requires more than traditional clinical support.
That’s where programs like art therapy play a powerful role.
Creative expression gives children a safe, nonverbal way to process emotions, build confidence, and begin to make sense of their experiences. It’s not just about art, it’s about providing a pathway to healing that feels accessible and empowering.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month
May is recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month—a time dedicated to increasing understanding, reducing stigma, and supporting those navigating mental health challenges.
For many of the children and families served by Griffith Centers for Children, access to compassionate, trauma-informed mental health care is life-changing. Their work reflects what this month is all about: creating space for healing, building resilience, and ensuring individuals have the support they need to move forward.
That’s why this spotlight—and our efforts this month—feel especially meaningful.
Conexus in Action: Arts & Crafts Supply Drive
To support this important work, our team is hosting an Arts & Crafts Supply Drive throughout May.
We’ll be collecting items that directly support Griffith Centers’ art therapy programs, including:
- Art supplies
- Stickers
- Beads
- Collage materials
- General crafting supplies
These simple items can have a meaningful impact—helping create moments of calm, creativity, and self-expression for children working through difficult experiences.
How You Can Get Involved
Community impact doesn’t happen in isolation—it happens when people choose to participate.
If you’re looking for ways to support Griffith Centers for Children, consider:
- Donating supplies or funds to support their programs
- Volunteering your time
- Sharing their mission with your network
- Learning more about trauma-informed care and advocacy
Even small actions can contribute to long-term change.
More Than a Spotlight
Through Conexus Cares, we partner with organizations like Griffith Centers because their work aligns with what we believe: supporting people, especially during challenging moments matters.
This isn’t just about awareness. It’s about showing up in tangible ways to support organizations that are doing meaningful, often unseen work in our communities.
In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, we encourage everyone to take a moment to learn, support, or simply start a conversation—because awareness is where meaningful change begins.
We’re honored to play a small role in supporting their mission this month—and we look forward to sharing updates along the way.
