Conexus Cares Spotlight: Food Bank of the Rockies
At Conexus Insurance, giving back is an important part of who we are. Through Conexus Cares, our team has opportunities throughout the year to step outside the office, lend a hand, and support organizations making a meaningful difference in the communities where we live and work.
This September, we’re proud to spotlight Food Bank of the Rockies, an organization working every day to nourish our neighbors facing hunger throughout Colorado and Wyoming.
Fighting Hunger Across Our Communities
Food insecurity can affect anyone. A job loss, unexpected medical expense, rising housing costs, or simply the increasing cost of groceries can make it difficult for individuals and families to consistently put nutritious food on the table.
Food Bank of the Rockies has been helping meet that need since 1978. Today, it is the largest hunger-relief organization in the Rocky Mountain region, working with more than 800 Hunger Relief Partners across Colorado and Wyoming.
Through food pantries, mobile distributions, programs for children and older adults, home delivery, and other community partnerships, Food Bank of the Rockies distributes enough food for upwards of 185,000 meals every day.
Its work goes beyond providing meals. By helping people access nutritious food and everyday essentials, Food Bank of the Rockies gives our neighbors one less thing to worry about during challenging times.
Conexus in Action
On September 23, the Conexus team will spend time volunteering at the Food Bank of the Rockies distribution center.
Our team will roll up our sleeves and help with the hands-on work that keeps food moving through the organization and out into our communities. Depending on the needs of the warehouse that day, volunteers may help sort, inspect, pack, or prepare food and essential items for distribution.
It’s a simple way to make a tangible difference, and exactly the kind of community involvement Conexus Cares is all about. We believe strong communities are built when people and organizations show up for one another. We’re grateful for the opportunity to support Food Bank of the Rockies and the incredible work they do every day to help ensure our neighbors have access to the food they need.
